The 58th match of IPL 2024 was played yesterday at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. This match was between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. So batting first in the match, Bangalore scored 241 runs in 20 overs losing seven wickets. In reply, Punjab’s team was reduced to just 181 runs in 17 overs.

In the 58th match of IPL 2024, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Punjab Kings by 60 runs and made their place in the IPL. With this defeat, Punjab team is out of IPL 2024. It has eight points after 12 matches and the team can reach a maximum of 12 points which will not be enough to reach the playoffs. Let us tell you that Punjab is the second team to be out of the playoff race after Mumbai. At the same time, RCB has kept the playoff hopes alive with the win. It has 10 points after 12 matches. In this toss, Bangalore team lost the toss and decided to bat first. Bangalore team scored 241 runs in 20 overs by losing seven wickets. ViratKohli played a brilliant innings of 92 runs with the help of seven fours and six sixes in 47 balls. At the same time, RajatPatidar scored 55 runs in 23 balls and Cameron Green scored 46 runs in 27 balls. In reply, Punjab team was reduced to 181 runs in 17 overs. Riley Russo scored the highest 61 runs. Apart from this, Shashank Singh scored 37 runs and Sam Curran could score 22 runs. Siraj took three wickets. At the same time, Swapnil Singh, Loki Fergyson and Karn Sharma got two wickets each.

Punjab’s innings

Chasing the huge target of 242 runs, Punjab’s team did not have a good start. Prabhsimran Singh was dismissed after scoring six runs. After this, Riley Russo shared a 65-run partnership with Jonny Bairstow. Bairstow was dismissed after scoring 27 runs in 16 balls. Russo hit the second half-century of his IPL career in 21 balls. However, he lost his wicket immediately after scoring a half-century. Russo played an innings of 61 runs with the help of nine fours and three sixes in 27 balls. Fans had high expectations from Shashank Singh, but he was run out after scoring 37 runs with the help of four fours and two sixes in 19 balls. Kohli sent Shashank to the pavilion with a direct throw.

Jitesh Sharma (5) and Liam Livingstone (0) could not do anything special again. Captain Sam Curran scored 22 runs in 16 balls.  At the same time, Ashutosh Sharma was out after scoring eight runs, Arshdeep Singh was out after scoring four runs. Harshal could not open his account. Seven batsmen of Punjab team could not even touch the double digit mark. In this way the team was reduced to 181 runs in 17 overs. Mohammad Siraj took the maximum three wickets from Bangalore. At the same time, Swapnil Singh, Loki Ferguson and Karn Sharma got two wickets each. Despite all this, Punjab team could not hoist the flag of victory.
